Haiku sequence

Two run down the street
Laughing, dancing, knowing they
Will soon become one

Door flung wide; they’re in
Eyes meet, arms wrap, lips, tongues, souls
Now the night begins

The bedroom beckons
The moon will provide the light;
Their bodies, the glow

Eyes locked, they part; clothes
Unneeded fall to the floor –
And she to her knees

Tongue flicking, snake-like
Soft mouth ready for his gift;
Eager for her turn

Fingers part her lips
Breath held for a year; and then
Her button is pressed

Writhing, sweating, hot
Blind to all but their bodies
Inseparable

Thrust forward, hold back
Crave more, need less; want this all
To last forever

The moment comes, oh!
The world is fire, time is lost
In eternity!

And then, and then, and –
The two, still one, are two again
Smiling and fulfilled
