At play
Child-like bespelled
They laughed and yelled
All three ran rings, went wild
“You’re it!” “No, you!”
“Am not!” “Are too!”
As each the other riled.
Two hid, one sought
Until those caught
Out from their hide-place filed.
They climbed and raced
All ruddy-faced
Their cast-off jumpers piled.
The setting sun
Bade them be done
And pub-ward them beguiled.
All wild and free
These playful three –
Not one of them a child.
